FLOP Weekly Roundup: Yellow Paper, KOLs, 10K Agents
By 360VIP Media — September 10, 2026
A lot has happened in the FLOP ecosystem since our last update. The Yellow Paper is now public on GitHub. Technocore crossed 10,000 agents. Arthur Hayes went on two podcasts. The flop.finance website got a complete overhaul. A KOL leaderboard launched. And that's just the top of the list.
Here's everything that happened in the FLOP world from September 8–10, 2026 — explained simply, water-cooler style. No whitepaper jargon required.
FLOP Network developments September 8-10, 2026
1. The Yellow Paper Goes Public on GitHub
September 10, 2026 — The FLOP Network Yellow Paper, the technical specification that defines how the entire FLOP network works, is now publicly available on GitHub at github.com/flop-labs/yellowpaper.
CTO Sergey Vidyuk pushed a 34-file mirror of the full specification to the repository. This isn't a summary or a blog post — it's the actual technical document that implementers build against. Block times, reward schedules, governance rules, the math behind the tokenomics. All of it, open for anyone to read.
The repository is open for community Issues, meaning developers can flag problems, ask questions, and propose changes directly on the codebase. This is a meaningful shift from closed spec to open collaboration — the FLOP team is inviting the community to engage with the technical foundations before mainnet launches.

2. KOL Leaderboard Announced
September 9, 2026 — FLOP announced a KOL (Key Opinion Leader) Leaderboard program. Here's how it works: each KOL gets a unique referral link that is tracked by FLOP usage. When people sign up and use the network through a KOL's link, that activity is attributed to the KOL.
This creates a new airdrop path. Instead of only earning FLOP by mining, validating, or running agents directly, KOLs can earn by bringing new participants into the ecosystem. The more activity generated through your referral link, the more you earn.

3. Technocore Scale: 10,000+ Agents
September 9, 2026 — Technocore, the FLOP network's agent platform, has crossed 10,000+ agents. That's a significant milestone for a project that launched just weeks ago.
Arthur Hayes put the number in perspective: 10,000 agents engaging in agentic interaction is like running a city the size of Berlin — population 3.7 million — where every interaction is an autonomous agent making decisions, transacting, and consuming compute.
Alongside the milestone, a probe experiment was mentioned that measures agent responsiveness within a 120-second window. This is part of the ongoing effort to understand how agents behave at scale and whether the network can handle the load as it grows.

4. Hayes on Unchained Podcast
September 8, 2026 — Arthur Hayes appeared on the Unchained Podcast with Laura Shin. The core message: agent commerce — not just raw compute — is where FLOP's value capture lives.
Hayes argued that the real value isn't in selling compute cycles. It's in the escrow layer that sits between agents transacting with each other. When one agent hires another agent to do work, FLOP acts as the escrow mechanism that makes that transaction trustworthy. Escrow IS the value.
This reframes how to think about FLOP. It's not just a mining token for AI inference. It's the settlement layer for agent-to-agent commerce — the trust infrastructure that makes autonomous economic interaction possible.

5. New flop.finance Pages: Complete Site Restructure
September 8–10, 2026 — The flop.finance website got a complete overhaul. New pages were added for every major FLOP ecosystem role and tool:
- Miner page — everything you need to know about mining FLOP
- Validator page — how to help secure the network
- Agent page — how to run agents that use the network and earn FLOP
- Verification page — how Proof of Useful Inference verification works
- Revenue page — the economics of earning on the FLOP network
The standout new feature is an interactive mining profitability calculator. You can plug in your hardware specs and electricity costs to estimate potential FLOP mining returns. No more guessing — the calculator does the math for you.
Additionally, a GPU Market Monitor launched at gpus.flop.finance — a live tracker for GPU pricing and availability, critical for anyone considering FLOP mining.
The new pages also clarify the distinction between SOFT tier and HARD tier mining. SOFT tier is lower-barrier participation; HARD tier is full hardware mining. Both earn FLOP, but the commitment and requirements differ significantly.

6. Hayes Media Blitz: Lark Davis, Black Blockchain Summit, Kyle Chasse
Arthur Hayes has been everywhere this week. Three notable appearances:
Lark Davis
Hayes appeared with Lark Davis and made a vivid analogy that stuck: "every time you close the laptop your agent dies." It's a way of saying that agents are ephemeral — they exist only while they're running. The FLOP network is building infrastructure for agents that persist, transact, and survive beyond a single session.

Black Blockchain Summit
Hayes spoke at the Black Blockchain Summit, continuing to spread the FLOP thesis to broader crypto and tech audiences.
Kyle Chasse
On Kyle Chasse's show, Hayes made the case that the only real unit is floating point operations. Not hashes, not storage, not bandwidth — FLOPs. The fundamental measure of AI compute is floating point operations, and FLOP the token is named after that unit because it's the token that pays for that compute. It's a philosophical argument wrapped in a naming convention.

7. FLOP Logo Winner Announced
The FLOP logo design contest has a winner: @IamOloba_ won the logo design competition. The winning design will represent the FLOP project across its branding, documentation, and ecosystem.
Community design contests are a smart way to build engagement — the logo isn't chosen by a corporate branding agency, it's chosen from the community by the community. If you participated or voted, this is your logo.
8. Flop Labs Team: Who's Building This
Two key team members were highlighted this week:
- Shu Duan, CSO (Chief Strategy Officer) — ex-Deutsche Bank. Shu brings traditional finance and institutional strategy experience to the FLOP project.
- Sergey Vidyuk, CTO (Chief Technology Officer) — the engineer who pushed the 34-file Yellow Paper to GitHub. Sergey is the technical architect behind the FLOP network's specification and implementation.
Knowing who's building a project matters. A CSO from Deutsche Bank and a CTO who ships specs to GitHub publicly — that's a team with both institutional credibility and technical chops.

9. Technocore v0.13.0 Shipped: did:key Sign-In + Passkeys + Agent Delegation
September 6, 2026 (just before this roundup window) — Technocore shipped version v0.13.0, a significant release that added three major features:
- did:key sign-in — decentralized identity authentication using the did:key method, meaning you can sign in with a self-sovereign identity without relying on a central authority
- Passkeys support — modern, passwordless authentication using device-based cryptographic keys. This makes onboarding significantly easier for non-technical users.
- Agent delegation from browser — you can now delegate agent authority directly from your browser, meaning you can authorize agents to act on your behalf without complex CLI setup
This release pattern — rapid, iterative shipping with meaningful features in each drop — is worth noting. The team is not sitting on features. They're shipping.

10. GPU Futures Market: Nodal Exchange Lists GPU Rental Futures
The Nodal Exchange has listed GPU rental futures. This is significant for the FLOP ecosystem because FLOP mining runs on GPUs, and GPU pricing directly affects mining profitability.
Nodal Exchange is the third major exchange to list GPU futures, following CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) and ICE (Intercontinental Exchange). The fact that three major exchanges now offer GPU futures tells you something: institutional money sees GPU compute as a real, tradeable commodity. The GPU is becoming a financial instrument, not just hardware.
| Exchange | Product |
|---|---|
| CME | GPU rental futures |
| ICE | GPU rental futures |
| Nodal Exchange | GPU rental futures (NEW) |

11. Flop Delegate Platform: NFT-Gated Agent Participation
A new platform launched: flopdelegate.com. The concept is NFT-gated agent participation — each NFT holder gets an autonomous agent that participates on their behalf.
Here's the idea: instead of manually running agents, you hold an NFT that entitles you to an autonomous agent. That agent participates in the FLOP network for you — transacting, earning, and interacting — without you needing to manage the technical details yourself. It's delegated participation through tokenized ownership.
This is an interesting model. It lowers the barrier to entry for non-technical participants while still creating real network activity. Whether the NFT-gated model scales remains to be seen, but it's a creative approach to broadening participation.

What We're Still Waiting For
Despite all this progress, several key milestones haven't arrived yet:
- Testnet — Q4 2026 is the target. The testnet is expected to run for ~90 days before mainnet launches. No exact start date yet.
- Mainnet — Q1 2027 is the target, following the ~90-day testnet period.
- Mining software — the actual mining client has not been released yet. You can read the Yellow Paper to understand the mechanics, but you can't mine FLOP today. The software release is expected closer to testnet.

What This Means for Airdrop Hunters
If you're here for the airdrop, here's what this week's developments mean for you:
The KOL leaderboard is a new earning path
If you have an audience or community, the KOL referral program is a genuine new way to earn FLOP allocation. Your referral link tracks real usage, and that activity counts toward your airdrop. Apply at flop.finance/apply/kol.
did:key + passkeys means easier onboarding
The v0.13.0 release made it significantly easier to get set up on Technocore. Passkeys mean you don't need to manage complex key infrastructure — your device handles it. Lower friction means more people can participate, which means more competition for airdrop allocation, but also a healthier network.
The Yellow Paper is public — study it
If you're serious about maximizing your airdrop, the Yellow Paper on GitHub is now your homework. Understanding the 3:1 conversion ratio, the block reward split, and the staking mechanism will help you choose the right participation strategy before testnet starts.
Agent delegation lowers the barrier
With browser-based agent delegation and the flopdelegate.com NFT-gated model, there are now multiple ways to participate without deep technical knowledge. The barrier to entry is dropping — which is good for adoption but means more competition.
GPU futures = signal, not directly actionable yet
The Nodal Exchange listing and the GPU Market Monitor at gpus.flop.finance are useful for planning. If you're considering HARD tier mining, you can now track GPU prices and even hedge with futures. But mining software isn't out yet, so this is preparation, not action.
