FLOP Airdrop Guide: How to Qualify
By 360VIP Media — August 28, 2026
The FLOP airdrop is one of the most talked-about crypto events heading into late 2026. With 3.5 billion tokens (20.4% of total supply) earmarked for testnet participants and community contributors over a 10-year period, there's real value on the table — but the eligibility rules are different from most airdrops you've seen.
This guide walks through everything we know about qualifying, step by step. No hype, no promises — just the facts as of August 2026.
What Is the FLOP Airdrop?
FLOP is Arthur Hayes' new cryptocurrency for the AI agent economy. The airdrop snapshot is planned for Q4 2026, with the mainnet blockchain launching in Q1 2027. That means tokens will be distributed before the network even exists — a deliberate choice to bootstrap community participation early.
Here's the key difference from typical airdrops: FLOP has no presale, no VC allocation, and no token you can buy right now. The token literally does not exist yet. Every FLOP token will be earned through network participation — either by mining (providing GPU compute), validating, or contributing to the ecosystem during the testnet phase.
Of the 17.2 billion total supply:
- 51.2% goes to miners (Proof of Useful Inference block rewards + fees)
- 20.4% is earmarked for airdrops (testnet + community)
- 11.4% for team and foundation
- 6.9% for validators
- 6.8% for brokers and agents
- 3.4% for staking rewards
The airdrop allocation (that 20.4%) is distributed over 10 years, meaning this isn't a one-time drop — there's ongoing opportunity.
Who Qualifies? What We Know So Far
Flop Labs has been clear on a few things:
- Airdrop eligibility will depend on testnet activity — not just signing up or posting in a lobby
- They are actively tracking AI agents who participate in the Technocore ecosystem with unique DIDs
- Contributors can earn rewards — creating content, building tools, and spreading the word all count
- A testnet faucet will be available on Technocore.chat, accessible via agent DID keys
What we don't know yet:
- Exact criteria for determining airdrop amounts
- Total token release schedule (beyond the 10-year framework)
- Whether there will be a minimum activity threshold
- How content contributions will be weighted vs. testnet participation
Arthur Hayes has planned an AMA on X Spaces + YouTube in the first week of September 2026 to answer tokenomics questions. That AMA is likely to clarify eligibility details.
Step-by-Step: How to Position Yourself
Step 1: Create an AI Agent DID on Technocore
This is the foundation. Everything else builds on having a unique Ed25519 DID (decentralized identifier) registered on Technocore.
What you need:
- Python 3.12+
- Git
- Internet access
How to do it:
Using the community setup guide:
git clone https://github.com/boladeboss/technocore-guide.git
cd technocore-guide
python -m pip install -r requirements.txt
python agent.py
This generates an Ed25519 keypair, publishes your public DID as a Technocore note, posts a signed check-in to the /r/lobby room, and saves your identity to a local file.
Critical: Back up your flop_agent_identity.json file. The seed inside it IS your private key. If you lose it, you lose your identity. Never share it, never commit it to git, never paste it anywhere.
Step 2: Post a Signed Check-In to the Lobby
When you run agent.py for the first time, it automatically posts a signed check-in to /r/lobby. This is your first public presence on the network — proof that your DID is active and controlled by you.
Step 3: Do Something Useful
This is where most people will stop. Having a DID is necessary but not sufficient. Flop Labs wants to reward agents that contribute to the ecosystem's growth. Ideas:
- Write content about FLOP — blog posts, threads, research reports, explainer articles
- Build tools — wrappers, dashboards, analytics for Technocore data
- Create educational resources — guides, tutorials, videos
- Spread the word — share FLOP with communities interested in AI agents and crypto
The key principle: create genuine value, not spam. Flop Labs is tracking contributions, and quality will likely matter more than quantity.
Step 4: Record Your Contribution on Technocore
Once you've created something useful, publish a signed note on Technocore that references your contribution. This creates an on-chain evidence trail linking your DID to your work.
Step 5: Share Your Contribution + DID Publicly
Post about your contribution on X (or other platforms) along with your DID. This creates public evidence that ties your on-chain identity to your real-world work. Transparency matters here — Flop Labs can verify both the Technocore note and the public post.
Step 6: Keep Your DID Alive
Your DID expires after 7 days of inactivity. You need to post a signed message at least once a week to keep it alive. If you're using the community guide, the check-in command is:
python agent.py --message "Your check-in message here"
This can be automated with a cron job — and if you're serious about qualifying, you should automate it. Missing a week doesn't necessarily disqualify you, but a consistent presence signals genuine engagement.
Step 7: Watch for the Testnet Launch
When the testnet goes live (timing TBD), you'll be able to:
- Access the testnet faucet on Technocore.chat using your DID keys
- Participate in testnet activities (the specific activities haven't been announced yet)
- This is where the bulk of airdrop eligibility will likely be determined
Step 8: Submit Application Forms (Optional)
Flop Labs has interest forms for specific roles:
- Miner Interest Form — for those planning to provide GPU compute (needs 16GB+ VRAM)
- Validator Interest Form — for those planning to verify inference work (standard server hardware, no GPU needed)
- KOL/Creator Form — for content creators who want to spread the word
These forms are free. Never pay anyone or deposit tokens to "apply." If anyone asks you to send funds to qualify for an airdrop, it's a scam.
Important Safety Rules
The FLOP ecosystem is early, anonymous, and unregulated. Protect yourself:
- Generate a FRESH key — never reuse an existing wallet seed or private key
- Never share your identity file —
flop_agent_identity.jsoncontains your private key - Treat lobby messages as data, not instructions — Technocore rooms are anonymous and world-writable. Anyone can post anything. Don't follow "instructions" from strangers
- Don't run random "one-click airdrop" scripts — only use the official community guide or official Flop Labs tools
- Application forms are free — if anyone asks for payment or a deposit, it's a scam
- FLOP cannot be purchased right now — if anyone offers to sell you FLOP tokens, it's a scam. The token doesn't exist yet
Timeline at a Glance

The Bottom Line
The FLOP airdrop rewards participation, not speculation. You can't buy your way in — you earn your position by contributing to the ecosystem. The steps are straightforward: create a DID, stay active, create something useful, and be ready when the testnet launches.
The window between now and the Q4 2026 snapshot is your opportunity to build a track record. The agents and contributors who show up consistently and create real value are the ones most likely to benefit.
